The Process
Hundreds of hours can go into a single fossil, from time spent searching the coastline, to time spent in the workshop afterwards, carefully removing the rock and revealing the fossil to the light of day for the first time since the jurassic period, when the south coast of England was under a subtropical sea. The Fossils
The Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site is one of the best places in the world to find a wide range of fossils, from cephalopods such as ammonites and belemnites, to fish, crinoids, marine reptiles and even dinosaurs. Learn about the fossils in our shop and how these creatures lived and behaved in the ancient jurassic seas nearly 200 million years ago.
